Praying
       Our Bodies
   Preparing
          For Advent

            November 23-25, 2007
         Holy Cross  Monastery  NY

Come take refuge and pray.  We will integrate our bodies and spirits in worship: aligning the body through postures and praying the body through posture sequences to sung prayers.  Enter the mystery, power, and rhythm of the body through yoga, Gregorian chanting with the monks, Taize chant, mindful eating, and mindful walking the labyrinth and by the river.

Releasing our physical restlessness, our body can become a quiet home in which to rest in meditation, open to the indwelling of Emmanuel.  We will embody the spirit of Advent:  waiting for the Christ in the womb of Mary, awaiting the Incarnation, becoming ready to receive Emmanuel.

                                ALL,
        WITH OR WITHOUT YOGA EXPERIENCE,

Please bring something to place on a prayer table in the practice room.
